MARAVIROC

Selzentry

Indication:

Selzentry (Maraviroc) is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life. Selzentry (Maraviroc) belongs to a class of drugs known as entry inhibitors. It works by blocking the HIV virus from infecting healthy immune cells (T-cells).

Brand name:Selzentry

Active Ingeridents:Maraviroc

Company Name:Pfizer

Package:60 Tablets/bottle

Mechanism of action:

Selzentry (Maraviroc) is an entry inhibitor and works by blocking HIV from entering human cells. Selzentry (Maraviroc) selectively binds to the human chemokine receptor CCR5 present on the membrane of CD4 cells (T-cells), preventing the interaction of HIV-1 gp120 and CCR5 necessary for CCR5-tropic HIV-1 to enter cells.
