RETUXIMAB INJECTION

Ikgdar

Indication:

Ikgdar (Rituximab) is used alone or with other medications to treat certain types of cancer (e.g., non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia). It is a type of medication called a monoclonal antibody. It works by attaching to certain blood cells from your immune system (B cells) and killing them. It is also used with other monoclonal antibodies and radioactive drugs to treat certain cancers. Ikgdar (Rituximab) is also used with methotrexate to treat moderate-to-severe forms ofrheumatoid arthritis. It is usually used for arthritis only after other medications have not worked. It can decrease joint pain and swelling. It is also used to treat certain types of blood vessel disease (such as Wegener's granulomatosis, microscopic polyangiitis).

Brand name: Ikgdar

Active Ingeridents:Retuximab Injection

Company Name:Emcure

Package: 10ml vial

Strength :100mg

Mechanism of action:

The antibody binds to CD20. CD20 is widely expressed on B cells, from early pre-B cells to later in differentiation, but it is absent on terminally differentiated plasma cells. CD20 does not shed, modulate or internalise. Although the function of CD20 is unknown, it may play a role in Ca2+ influx across plasma membranes, maintaining intracellular Ca2+ concentration and allowing activation of B cells.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Ikgdar (Rituximab) is administered by intravenous infusion. Patients should receive acetaminophen (Tylenol) and an antihistamine prior to the infusion to reduce the severity of infusion reactions.
