Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) is indicated for treatment a certain type of lung cancer (non-small cell lung cancer) which has spread to other parts of the body.

Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) blocking the activating sites called tyrosine kinases of various proteins within the cell. These proteins are most likely to develop cancer growth when the tumor includes the EGFR gene mutation. By stopping these targets, it will target the cancer will shrink.

Diarrhae:

During your treatment with Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg), your doctor should also to treat diarrhea primarily.
Hepatic toxicity : Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) can worsen liver problems. Doctor will take blood tests to monitor the liver function before and during your treatment with this drug.
Keratitis: if patients confirm with suspected keratitis or ulcerative keratitis then stop or discontinue the drug
Interstitial lung disease (ILD) : Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) drug can leads to lung and breathing problems. Inform doctor right away about new or worsening lung problems while taking this drug. These problems can involveDyspnea, cough, or fever.
Bullous and exfoliative skin disorder : Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) can affect skin severely and show redness, rash, and acne. Inform doctor right away if you affected by severe skin reactions such as peeling or blistering.
Embryo-fetal toxicity:
Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) will cause harm to the foetus when administrated to pregnant women.
DRUG INTERACTION of Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg)
Concomitant of Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) with P-gpinhibitors (cyclosporine A, ketoconazole verapamil) will increase exposure to Afatinib
Interaction of Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) with P-gpinducers (carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital) will decrease exposure to Afatinib
PREGNANCY of Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg)
When the drug Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) is administrated to a pregnant woman will harm the foetus.
Pregnancy should avoid while on treatment with Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg).
LACTATION of Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg)
Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) Excretion into human milk is unknown or will have adverse reaction in a child who is breastfed. Therefore, decision should take whether to stop breastfeeding or discontinuation of medicine.
DOSAGE of Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg)
Xovoltib the prescribed dose for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer as follows :
For adult :
The prescribed dose is 40mg taken once per day.
For child dosage :
Ages of 0-17 years is not being studied in children.
The drug should not be used age under 18 years of age
For renal impairment:
prescribed dose is 30mg taken once per day
Take Xovoltib on an empty stomach. Consume the drug 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal
Avoid cutting or crushing the tablet.

Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) Store at 25℃.
Keep Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg) away from children.
MISSED DOSE of Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg)
If patient missed to take the dose of Afanat 20mg (Afatinib 20mg),the missed dose should be skipped and follow the regular dosing schedule. Do not self-medicate. Do not double the dose.
